Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Propel Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to send a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down following a major charity concert held in September. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the piece was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists featured on Lullaby encompasses a group of acclaimed names from the scene. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of producers and composers. The song features a fusion of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the project have clarified that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These resources will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and proving that another narrative exists.”

The track is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
