Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Presidential Offer

The president explained he’s discussed a White House visit for the loved ones of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president addressed reporters. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Attendees gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid policing efforts in DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that teachers desired. She carried herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the press. “She was kind, considerate and always ready to help others.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Policy Changes

Officials have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy prompted the administration to pause refugee claims and halt issuing visas to possessors of travel documents.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told the program that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with distinction, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had courage,” he informed the audience at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
