Netflix Casts Ideal Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season

Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the major clash isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.

The platform declared this week that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bentham. The role possesses the power to transform into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their right hand. Escola, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character reimagined as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action show, as in the source material and cartoon version.

The new cast member joins multiple fresh additions tasked with bringing Baroque Works to the screen, featuring chief Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who will appear as the cast as the ruler of the desert kingdom.

Though Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this represents a notable change in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest further changes to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the part. Besides their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is due to premiere for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
